The Big Waraji Offering Festival held in the Serinuma area takes place on the last Sunday of August each year. During this festival, local residents weave a new giant waraji (straw sandal) to be offered at the Sengen Shrine. This traditional event also features cultural presentations including lion dances, making it a cherished occasion for the community.
In the morning, participants create the waraji, and from 1 PM, the waraji will be installed at the shrine along with the lion dance performance. Following this, the lion dance will be performed at Takao Shrine around 2 PM, and again at the Serinuma Intersection around 2:30 PM.
